Realignment and Recidivism in California.

On Tuesday, December 12th, the Public Policy Institute of California (PPIC) held an event at the Capitol Event Center in Sacramento to outline findings from a new report regarding changes in recidivism since the implementation of realignment. PPIC researcher Mia Bird presented the report, to view the PowerPoint slides, click here. To view video of the presentation and the full publication, click here.
The CMHPC released an issue paper, “Adult Residential Facilities (ARFs): Highlighting the critical need for adult residential facilities for adults with serious mental illness in California.” The paper presented some barriers and proposed remedies. The Council is committed to receiving stakeholder input on solutions to this complex issue. The CMHPC needs your input on the following two questions:
  1. What are other barriers, not addressed in the paper?
  2. What are other ideas/solutions, not addressed in the paper?
