Intercept 0: Prevention

To address the need for services and treatment before criminal justice involvement, the Policy Research Associates, Inc., which operates the GAINS Center, introduced Intercept 0 to the Sequential Intercept Model.  The goal of this intercept is to connect individuals to treatment before there is a behavioral health crisis, or at the earliest stage of interaction with the criminal justice system (PRA, 2016).
